Asthma, Boredom, Enrollment & Emong

Here's the thing. I wasn't able to write something on my blog for almost a week. I went to Baguio, came back home, and bullcrap! Electricity's out.

I. Asthma

I've been sick since the last day of April. And guess what! I'm still sick. This was how I looked like until the 6th of May.

Am I not pitiful? Well. I can't do anything about it. Heredity is a powerful thing. Now, getting well is number one on my wish list.

II. Boredom

I've never mentioned this before. My Tita requested for some renovations on this house. She wanted a comfort room inside her room which is like 17 steps away from the comfort room that we normally use. Gosh. People are getting lazier and lazier everyday. So, they turned our old sari-sari store to her comfort room and connected it to their room. They did some painting on the walls and placed tiles for the flooring. The dust from the cement and the smell of the paint triggered my asthma. My mom thought that this might make my baby sister and my little cousin sick so we decided to go to Baguio and stay there for a couple of days until the renovation is over.

There! Baguio! We stayed at my sisters' boarding house. The place wasn't wide but it's enough for us to live our lives. THERE'S NO iNTERNET CONNECTiON! But there's an internet shop right outside the place. I didn't visit that place though. We stayed there for 5 days. I had the same routine: sleep-eat-play monopoly-watch TV-babysit-take a bath and so on and so forth. We weren't able to go out since it was raining the whole time. yeah, NON-STOP. May 7, Thursday, we went home.

III. Enrollment

May 4, Monday -- I was sitting beside my sister who's very busy playing monopoly on the laptop on her lap. We weren't talking to each other or anything. It's just that, I know she won't be able to comprehend well on what I was going to say. I grabbed her Magic 8 ball which was located beside her. I closed my eyes, shook the ball and I while shaking it, I asked this, "Magiging madali ba 'yung enrollment ko bukas?" Then I opened my eyes. The reply was, "Without a doubt." Then I did the same thing again but this time I asked, "Sigurado ka?". "My reply is no." was the reply. I asked the ball the same questions for 3 stupid times and the replies pointed to one statement: "I'm not sure." Okay. I slept with fear.

May 5, Tuesday -- I woke up at 6:30 AM. I felt weirdly excited and scared about the enrollment. My sister woke up at 7:30 AM and we're supposed to leave and reach UP Baguio by 8:00 AM. But what the heck, that turned to 9:00 AM and my enrollment started at 8:30 AM. I really wanted to go there early not that I was excited but I wanted to end the torture early. Her classes start at 9 AM. She told me that they'll be having a quiz on the first period. She wasn't that concerned about it so she walked me to the library first to have something xerox copied. After that, I started the enrollment process. I GOT SO SURPRiSED. And so were the Juniors. UP changed their style on their enrollment process. Now, subjects were pre-listed and all you have to do is transfer them to the precious Form 5. We didn't have to get each subject signed and go through horrifying people. I started at 9:15 AM and ended at 2:52 PM. Easy *wink* Now, I'm officially enrolled in UP Baguio, College of Arts and Communication, Major in Journalism, Minor in Speech.

IV. Emong

By the time I found out that electricity was out, I knew Cosme's back, but with a different name. This time, his name's Emong.

I laid my baby sister on the bed. I just stopped her from crying and made her fall into a deep sleep. I sat by the window and felt the strongest blows of the wind, watched the trees swing their brittle branches and green leaves on random directions, the fallen and kicked-out-from-trees little leaves fly and fall like dark-colored snowflakes and the yero of out neighbor's roof be subjected to removal and create irritating noises from experiencing collisions with trees and concrete walls. Nothing outside this house seemed to be at peace. Everytime the wind blew, my heart unusually pounded like a hammer. I'm not scared of anything. Not even of the strongest thunderclaps, rodent and roaches BUT THiS AND GHOSTS, as well. Haha! What makes me afraid of super typhoons are the people who need to turn our electricity off which leades to extreme boredom. My baby sister was still surprisingly asleep despite everything that's been happening around her.

Okay. I tried to sleep as early as I can. I tried and I did. My baby sister kept me waking up a lot of times on the middle of my deepest sleeps and I had to entertain her to keep her from crying. She kept talking all night. I got out of bed at 4:50 AM, ate my breakfast and went outside to see how bad the typhoon hit us. Well, it wasn't as bad as I expected. See?

That's all for now.

TOODLES!

PS. This post has been written on a notebook first. And I wrote this during the storm. Haha!

* I went to the dentist a while a ago. My braces will be installed on Monday and I'm sure this time. Haha!
